“Having taught in diverse communities across the globe, I’ve found that the most powerful tools for connection and growth—no matter the setting—are play, music, storytelling, and dance. This is exactly what you will find here.”
Lisa Brodrick is a yoga educator, somatic guide, and creative movement facilitator with over 20 years of experience teaching in both public education and in the yoga world. Having grown up between the US & Argentina, she is first generation in the US & is the founder of Ohana Rising Yoga School, a Yoga Alliance–certified school rooted in somatic wisdom, seasonal ritual, and sacred practice. Her education is vast and holistic holding multiple certifications from her studies in Ashtanga Yoga beginning in 2001, Iyengar 2003, Sri Dharma Mittra beginning in 2004 to present, Kundalini yoga, Restorative & somatic work & Clinical Yoga Therapy.
For over 16 years, Lisa served as a global lead trainer & mentor for Radiant Child Yoga, under the leadership of Founder Shakta Khalsa (Lana Reed) certifying educators and leading trainings across the U.S., Central America, South Africa, and the Virgin Islands. She now offers her own signature children’s yoga methodology: Wild Roots—a trauma-aware, neurodiversity-affirming path that blends yoga, somatics, storytelling, expressive arts, and nervous system regulation.
Lisa’s teaching is grounded in the belief that movement, imagination, and rhythm are essential tools for healing and learning. She works closely with educators, families, and communities including KYDS of Asbury Park, NJ, to bring practices that support resilience, presence, and joy to both children and the adults who guide them.
When she’s not teaching, Lisa can be found cooking with her private chef work, walking her dog, surfing, or playing music.
