Please join us in welcoming internationally renown tabla artist, Amit Kavthekar accompanied by talented sarod artist Pat Lambdin for a beautiful and inspirational afternoon concert. Amit & Pat will will transport you to the magical world of Indian classical music. You will experience the rich history of this traditional music and its soundscapes, Ragas (melodic scales) and Bandishes (compositions), live.

Amit Kavthekar - Tabla

Amit Kavthekar lives in Boston and teaches tabla at the New England School of Music. He is a disciple of the legendary Ustad Allah Rakha and has learned tabla intricacies from Ustad Zakir Hussain. He has performed with many prominent artists including Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, Ustad Shahid Parvez, and Rakesh Chaurasia. Amit also collaborates with western musicians such as Al Di Meola and has played with the Massachusetts Symphony Orchestra.

Pat Lambdin - Sarod

Pat Lambdin lives in Vermont and is a sarod artist, music therapist and songwriter.  He is a disciple of Pandit Shivnath Mishra of the Benares Gharana of Indian classical music. He has performed both in India and North America and recently released an album called ‘Shiv Sarod Vol. 1’ with accompanist Prashant Mishra. Pat has dedicated his life to the path of music and is passionate about presenting North Indian classical music to new audiences.
